Hi, I'm Melody.
Iām a product designer focused on creating and meaningful digital experiences that balance usability with delight.
About Me
Hey there! š I'm Melody, a UX designer based in Northern California.
I design for the people who don't usually get prioritizedāmembers navigating retirement benefits, healthcare providers looking for training materials, folks who need clear instructions when stakes are high.
My background spans public sector, healthcare, and e-commerce, where I've learned that good design isn't about looking cleverāit's about making complex things feel manageable.
When I'm not in Figma, I'm hunting down the best coffee shop in the Bay Area or testing new cookie recipes (currently perfecting chocolate chip cookies šŖ).
Design Philosophy

User-Centered Design
I start with what people actually need, not what we think they need. Good design helps users feel confident, especially when they're navigating unfamiliar territory.

Creativity Within Constraints
The best ideas come from working with constraints, not against them. I design within real limitsātight timelines, technical restrictions, accessibility standardsāand find creative solutions that actually ship.

Systems Thinking
I build design systems and component libraries so teams can move faster and products stay consistent. When everyone works from the same foundation, we solve problems instead of reinventing buttons.

Accessibility as Standard
Accessible design isn't optionalāit's the baseline. I design to WCAG AA from day one because everyone deserves barrier-free experiences. (Bonus: accessible design is usually just clearer design.)
